Back in the spring, our parent organization, All Good Living Foundation, teamed up with Chesskid.com, and they donated 50 chess sets and contributed free Chesskid.com accounts to Title 1 schools. Now that it’s summer, we want to offer the opportunity for kids to learn to play the game of chess. We’ll be holding chess lessons in front of the AGL Store taught by our Alameda High School Chess Club members. We are working on a schedule of classes, but we’re super excited to start! These events help all involved, the kids learn a new skill, and the student volunteers can earn their volunteer hours for school; it’s a win-win! If your child wants to learn the game chess, check back on our Events page on our website for upcoming classes or sign up for pre-registration, and be one of the first to know.
